Yah, wasn't Phil Savage supposed to be the greatness behind the draft and FA? They haven't really done much in his term there.

Decent signing, though I think J.Lewis is definitely heading downward on his career.
Yeah, gotta wonder where A.Peterson is gonna be drafted. Doubt HOU now since they signed A.Green and have a glut of RBs behind him including D.Davis who without having to carry the full load maybe can stay healthy now. CLE was the most likely stop for Peterson to team him up with Droughns giving them a potentially very good 1-2 punch in the backfield which is the route many teams are going to now. With J.Lewis signed, you don't think they'd spend the 3rd overall pick on Peterson, would they? Really, have no idea where Peterson ends up. The only thing I can think of is if the Raiders trade down into the middle top ten and drafts Peterson, which was the rumor months ago that OAK would have to make the choice at #1 between Quinn and Peterson, but this was before Russell declared for the draft and CJ was thought to be a potential #1 pick by the Raiders. 1.OAK-really don't have anything that scares you in the backfield. 2.DET-traded for T.Bell, have K.Jones still but he's injured. 3.CLE-signed J.Lewis and have Droughns as the backup. 4.TB-C.Williams, nuff said, even though he had a sophmore slump in 06. 5.ARZ-Edge, nuff said. 6.WAS-Portis and Betts, nuff said. 7.MIN-Taylor, had a very good year last season after signing as a FA. 8.HOU-signed A.Green and have D.Davis as the backup. 9.MIA-R.Brown, nuff said. 10.ATL-Dunn and Norwood, pretty good RB duo, though who knows, I wouldn't be stunned if they draft him and have a duo of Peterson/Norwood in the future. Maybe, the Niners can trade down from #11, to a team like BUF who maybe want to draft a RB in Peterson if they trade McGahee eventually this offseason. The Niners can pick up an extra 3rd or 4th pick, while still being able to draft a Carriker or Willis.

Really, Browns will draft Peterson?
![]() I think with this move, they have two veteran RBs in Lewis/Droughns who maybe aren't the RBs they were a few years back with the Ravens/Broncos but together they should give the Browns at least a solid running game for another year or two, be better than what they've had really since coming back into the NFL in 1999...especially with the addition of Steinbach. IMO, the Browns now are more likely to take a chance on drafting Quinn with the 3rd pick. Bring the hometown kid back to where he grew up and you'll be set with 3 young studs potentially at QB(Quinn), WR(Edwards), and TE(Winslow II). With the rest of the picks in the draft, they should just concentrate on rebuilding back that D and hope Wimbley keeps improving and becomes one of the better young pass rushers in the NFL and that the vets they've brought in over the past few offseasons in McGinest, Washington, and Baxter can stay healthy while performing anywhere close to form they had as recent all pros.

Browns | Team sends Droughns to Giants for Carter
Fri, 9 Mar 2007 13:19:44 -0800 Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Cleveland Browns have sent RB Reuben Droughns to the New York Giants in exchange for WR Tim Carter. Droughns traded to the NYG for Carter. Is Droughns now gonna be the starting RB for the NYG with Jacobs still being utilized as the short yardage/goaline RB? Carter has been a huge dissapointed for a 2nd round pick by the NYG in 02...done very little his first 5 years in the NFL. Would this move now make CLE draft A.Peterson which I thought they wouldn't after they signed J.Lewis a few days ago? Still think they should draft Quinn and find a RB in round two like an Irons or M.Bush...maybe wait until next year to draft a RB since this isn't particularly a strong RB class behind the top two of Peterson/Lynch.

RB musical chairs continue. What happened with Tim Carter? I remember him being a fast WR.
