Earlier I said Harrison looks like he's lost a step and might be on decline, and Chad Johnson has put up better #s than him and could've taken Harrison's spot amongst elite WRs today. When I said that I'm not judging by career because clearly both Rice and Harrison are the top 2 productive WRs in the history of the league in that regard. Sorry for the miscommunication.

Oh, sorry for the accusation. Jerry retired because he has lost his groove which is understandable considering his age.

Yes WR's have gotten bigger, but when JR was in his prime he was as close to the perfect WR as there's been to this day. Of course you can't prove somthing like this without time travel but IMHO there is absolutly no question.
When did I ever say 'in his prime' playing in 2006? I meant if he were to play right now, he wouldn't be anything more than a 4th or 5th WR because of his age. IMO, Marvin Harrison, who is probably on many people's list of elite guys in today (read: not judging career), is on the decline and isn't an elite WR he used to be. Right now, I'd take Chad Johnson over him.

CJ has been consistent and has had great years in the past 3. If that doesn't qualify you as an elite receiver, I don't know what could.
I think you're the only guy who understand what I'm saying. haha

I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth, I really didn't understand what you were getting at. I agree at this point in his life Rice is no longer an elite WR, I don't think that even JR's biggest fans would try to argue otherwise.
