This contract makes McCoy the third highest paid running Back in the NFL, according to Breer. He is behind the Minnesota Vikings' Adrian Peterson's seven-year $96 million and the Tennessee Titans' Chris Johnson's six-year $55.3 million contracts. He is the 3rd highest paid running back in terms of total contract value and annual average.

In terms of guaranteed money, he is the fourth highest paid running back behind Peterson ($36 million), Johnson ($30 million), and Carolina Panthers' DeAngelo Williams' July 2011 deal ($21 million).

San Francisco 49ers fifth-round draft pick Darius Fleming tore his anterior cruciate ligament during his first rookie minicamp practice on Friday, according to his agent Andy Simms. That puts his 2012 in serious jeopardy.

Fleming, a 6-foot-1, 245-pounder from Notre Dame suffered the injury in a non-contact drill, coming down on his knee awkwardly. He attempted to continue doing drills, but quickly realized his knee was giving out. He had an MRI, which confirmed the injury.

Simms said Fleming tore only the ACL, not any other ligaments, which may lead to an uncomplicated recovery. The assumption is that he’ll be on the sidelines for his rookie season, but the 49ers are keeping their options open.

Fleming signed his contract the day before the injury, inking a four-year deal worth a reported $2.264 million.
